There is no better place for a family holiday than a tropical island! Stunning beaches, palm trees and coconuts, tropical islands are idyllic places where the temperature is warm, the sea clear blue and safe for swimming and when there are plenty of activities to do, kids and their parents are bound to have an amazing time. Samui is a beautiful island in the Gulf of Thailand with easy access to Ko Phangan and Ko Tao. Samui island is a perfect holiday destination for families with kids. Continue reading if you’d like to get some ideas on family activities on Samui Island:
- Visit Samui Elephant Sanctuary
Samui is home to an eco elephant sanctuary set on 10 acres of tropical forest land, and it is an amazing place where you can get close to these four-legged giants. Feeding, walking, observing and interacting with elephants is something truly extraordinary for kids but also for adults. There is no exploiting of these animals at this sanctuary – they are rescued and taken care of with love and care. A definite must-visit during your family holiday in Thailand.
- Pink dolphin spotting Khanom
More awesome wildlife experiences await at Khanom where you and the kids can spot the rare pink dolphin in open waters. Go on a full-day guided tour where you not only get the chance to see pink dolphins on a private speedboat, but you can also go snorkelling and kayaking, complete with a traditional Thai meal served at lunch-time. The perfect family day out, I would say.
- Beach fun @ Chaweng Beach
The beach is, of course, one of the main reasons to travel to Samui Island. Chaweng beach is the most popular beach on the island, with lots of shops, restaurants, cocktail cafes, villas and activities. Little kids will love the off-shore Aquapark and teens will thrill to discover the on-site water sports facilities such as jet-skiing, kayaking, parasailing and stand-up paddle boarding (mom and dad will love this, too!) Want to get away from the crowds? Go chill the day away at Lipa Noi Beach or check out these 7 family-friendly beaches in Samui.
- Kayaking and snorkelling at Ang Thong National Marine Park
The Ang Thong National Marine Park is a beautiful place close to Ko Samui, home to 42 small islands with the most amazing beaches, mangrove forests and underwater life. You can go kayaking, swimming, picnicking on the beach, snorkelling and hiking to see waterfalls and lakes. Young, old – everyone will love exploring this gorgeous marine park
- Family time in your private villa
The best family quality time is spent in the private compound of your luxury villa, somewhere close to the beach on the island of Ko Samui. Your villa is your base, your private home away from home and it comes with a private swimming pool, living room, kitchen and bedrooms for all family members. No facilities to share, no noise, no invading of your privacy – it is just perfect for undisturbed quality time with the ones you love the most. Find the best Samui Villas here.
